Agreeing to these terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the OutFola mobile app for iOS and Android (shown as “Outfola” on your device, the “app”) and this website (together, the “Services”). The Services are provided by OutFola, based in India (“OutFola,” “we,” or “us”). You can contact us at support@outfola.com.
By downloading, installing, or using the app, or by using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Our Privacy Policy explains how the Services handle information; accepting these Terms is not consent to processing that requires separate consent. If you get the app from an app store, its terms and applicable app licence also apply (see App store terms). Mandatory law takes precedence over these Terms.
About OutFola
OutFola is a personal wardrobe app. With it, you can:
- add clothing with photos or basic illustrations, and organize, search, and filter your closet;
- build outfits in a visual studio, save looks, and get outfit suggestions made from your own pieces;
- plan looks on a calendar, log what you wear, and see wardrobe insights such as cost per wear;
- plan trips, assign looks to dates, and keep a packing checklist;
- receive optional local reminders for planned looks; and
- export and restore backup files.
The app works without an OutFola account. Your wardrobe is stored on your device rather than on OutFola servers. The current implementation has no in-app purchases, subscription billing, advertising, public profiles, marketplace, or hosted wardrobe-sharing service. Any app-store download price is shown in the store before you acquire the app; no download price or release date is promised here. If paid features are introduced later, the applicable price and terms will be provided before you choose to pay. Nothing here authorizes a future charge.
Who can use OutFola
You must be at least 13 and meet any higher minimum age or authorization requirements that apply where you live. You must have legal capacity to agree to these Terms. If you are below the age of legal majority, a parent or legal guardian must authorize and supervise your use and agree on your behalf, to the extent the law permits. In India, a person under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian’s authorization. Do not use the Services if local law requires authorization that has not been obtained.
The app does not verify age or provide an online parental-consent mechanism. A parent or guardian is responsible for deciding whether use is appropriate and for controlling the child’s device, backups, and sharing.
Your license to use the app
For versions other than the Apple App Store version, subject to these Terms and applicable store rules, we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control for personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence continues until ended as described below. The Apple App Store version is licensed under Apple’s Standard EULA, as explained in App store terms.
The app is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights not expressly granted to you. Some parts of the app are open-source software provided under their own licenses, and nothing in these Terms limits your rights under those licenses.
You are responsible for a compatible device, sufficient storage, device security, and any carrier or internet charges. Core wardrobe features operate locally; downloading or updating the app, opening this website, email support, or choosing a cloud-backed picker or sharing destination may require a connection. Availability and compatibility can differ by platform, device, operating-system version, and app release.
Your content
“Your content” means the photos, clothing details, notes, outfits, plans, wear history, trips, and other information you add to OutFola. You retain whatever ownership and other rights you hold in that content. Adding it does not transfer ownership to us or grant us a licence to publish or market it. The app processes, copies, and displays it on your device as needed to perform the actions you request. We do not receive it unless you separately choose to send it to us.
You are responsible for your content and for how you share it. By adding content, you confirm that:
- you took the photos yourself or have the right to use them; and
- adding or sharing them does not infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights. If a photo shows another person, get their permission first.
If you send a support request, you permit us to use the message and attachments as reasonably needed to investigate and answer that request, in accordance with the Privacy Policy. If you voluntarily send product ideas or suggestions, we may use those ideas to improve OutFola without payment or an obligation to implement them. That permission does not transfer ownership of your wardrobe photos or authorize their public use.
Your data and backups
OutFola stores your wardrobe on your device and does not provide automatic cloud sync. We do not have a copy of your data and cannot recover it for you. You are responsible for keeping your own backups.
Back up regularly. Losing, resetting, or replacing your device, or removing the app, may permanently delete information that has not been exported. Use More › Backup & restore to export a backup, especially after important changes or before changing devices.
- Backups are files you control. They are not encrypted or password-protected, and may include original photos with embedded metadata and historical images. Store and share them securely. Review any missing-photo or omitted-draft warnings; an export cannot recover media already missing from your device. Creating a file or opening the share sheet does not guarantee that you saved it to a durable destination.
- Restoring replaces your current data. OutFola checks a backup before using it and asks you to confirm. Restoring replaces your current wardrobe, outfits, plans, history, trips, and preferences; it does not merge them. Export your current data first if you want to keep it.
- Deletion affects different copies differently. Delete all local data cannot be undone unless you have a backup. Deleting a clothing item does not remove its snapshot or image from past wear records. Exported files, shared copies, and operating-system backups remain under your or their provider’s control; you must delete those separately. File cleanup can require a retry and is not a guaranteed forensic overwrite.
- Only restore files you trust. File-format and checksum validation does not establish authorship or guarantee safety. Restore requires sufficient storage and a supported backup version; recovery measures reduce the risk of interruption but cannot guarantee recovery in every case.
- Demo mode shows a built-in sample wardrobe. Sample pieces are for illustration, cannot be edited as your own, and are never included in backups.
Acceptable use
When using the Services, you agree not to:
- use them in a way that breaks any law or regulation, or that infringes or violates anyone else’s rights, including their privacy;
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, lease, or sublicense the app or any part of it, except as these Terms or applicable open-source licenses allow;
- decompile, reverse engineer, or try to extract the app’s source code, except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
- remove, hide, or change any copyright, trademark, or other notices in the Services;
- interfere with, disrupt, or try to gain unauthorized access to the Services, or use crafted files to do so;
- use automated means to scrape or overload this website; or
- present content you share from OutFola in a way that suggests OutFola endorses you or your content.
Suggestions, insights, and reminders
OutFola’s tools are meant to help, and they depend on the information you enter and on your device.
- Outfit suggestions use local rules based on your pieces, tags, favorites, wear history, and choices such as occasion and expected climate. There is no live weather feed or cloud AI in this implementation. Suggestions are style ideas only and do not verify weather protection, dress-code compliance, fit, garment care, or the suitability of clothing for a particular activity. Use your own judgment.
- Insights, including cost per wear, are calculated from the prices and wear history you enter. OutFola does not convert currencies, and insights are for personal reference only, not financial advice.
- Reminders are local notifications that depend on your notification permission, device settings, battery optimization, and time zone. OutFola schedules up to the next 50 reminders within 60 days, and your device may delay or skip delivery. Do not rely on reminders for anything time-critical.
- Trip capsules and packing checklists help you plan. Please check for yourself that you have everything you need.
Reminder notifications may display the outfit name, planned time, and plan notes on a lock screen or other notification surface. Choose notification-preview settings appropriate for your privacy. Your entries and manual changes determine what appears in the calendar, insights, and checklists.
Sharing and third-party services
When you share an outfit image or packing checklist, or save a backup, OutFola hands it to your device’s share sheet. You select the recipient or destination and are responsible for reviewing the content and obtaining any required permissions. A shared packing list includes the trip name and dates, item names, quantities for manual extras, and packed status. A backup includes much more of your wardrobe. Once shared, we cannot recall the copy or control how the recipient uses it.
The app or service you choose, such as messaging, email, or cloud storage, operates under its own terms and privacy policy. Links from this website may also take you to third-party sites. Third-party availability, security, and practices are outside our control; nothing in this section excludes responsibility that the law places on us.
The app also relies on features of your device’s operating system, such as the photo picker, camera, notifications, file picker, and device backups, which are provided by Apple or Google under their terms.
This website and sample content
This website introduces OutFola. Outfits shown on it use an example wardrobe, and some app views are illustrative previews that may differ from the version you install. Features, availability, supported devices, and timing may change. Information on this website is not an offer, and “coming soon” does not guarantee a release date or availability in your country.
Our intellectual property
The OutFola name, wordmark, and logo, the app and its design, built-in illustrations and imagery, and the content of this website belong to OutFola or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you any right to use our name, logos, or trademarks without our written permission.
Updates and availability
We may update the Services, change features, or stop distributing or supporting them, subject to applicable law and any commitments made when you acquired the app. Where reasonably practicable, we will give notice of a material withdrawal that affects continued use. Some updates may be needed for security or compatibility. We do not guarantee a particular release schedule, indefinite maintenance, or compatibility with future devices or operating-system versions.
Your ownership of your content continues if distribution or support ends. However, we cannot guarantee that an installed app will remain usable or that export will always be possible. Keep an independent backup before changing devices or operating systems, deleting the app, or performing a restore.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
In particular, we do not promise that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, that data will never be lost or damaged, that reminders will be delivered on time, or that suggestions will suit you. Some places do not allow certain warranties to be excluded, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms affects rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived or limited by contract.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these Terms, or for business losses arising from use of a service intended for personal use. To that same extent, liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages is excluded.
These exclusions do not remove responsibility for reasonably foreseeable loss caused by our breach where the law requires us to bear it. They do not limit or exclude liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, breach of mandatory data-protection duties, or any other liability or remedy that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. You retain mandatory consumer guarantees, refund rights, and statutory remedies. The applicable app-store licence may contain additional provisions, subject to the same mandatory-law protections.
Ending these terms
You can stop using the Services at any time. Export a backup first if you want to keep your wardrobe, then delete local data and the app if you wish. There is no OutFola account to close or subscription to cancel in this implementation.
For versions licensed under these Terms, we may terminate the licence for a serious or repeated breach, subject to applicable law and reasonable notice and an opportunity to remedy where appropriate. The Apple version’s licence terminates under its applicable EULA. We do not operate a remote account or wardrobe-deletion service. Ending these Terms does not itself delete files on your device or copies you shared elsewhere. Your content rights and provisions that by their nature should continue, including intellectual property, applicable disclaimers and liability provisions, and dispute provisions, survive to the extent permitted by law.
App store terms
For the Apple App Store version, the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement governs the app licence, together with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and their Usage Rules. These website and service Terms supplement that licence and do not replace it with a custom Apple EULA. If they conflict on an Apple app-licensing matter, the Standard EULA controls, subject to mandatory law. It includes the applicable licence scope, warranty and liability provisions, termination, export restrictions, and Apple’s third-party-beneficiary rights.
If you get the app from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service and applicable store rules also apply. Store rules govern the store’s own services, transactions, and any required refund process; these Terms govern your use of OutFola to the extent they are consistent with those rules and mandatory law. Contact OutFola for app support; the store is not our support provider.
Use and distribution must comply with applicable export-control and sanctions laws. Nothing in these Terms grants rights exceeding the applicable store’s usage rules, including any permitted family-sharing arrangements.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services or applicable law. We will post the revised version here and update its date. Material changes will be identified with reasonable advance notice on this website or in the app, unless an immediate change is needed for legal or security reasons. Changes apply prospectively, and we will seek additional agreement where the law requires it. Continued use after the stated effective date constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Services and keep an exported copy of your content. Changes cannot remove rights or remedies you already have under mandatory law.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to any mandatory law that applies to you and any overriding provisions of the applicable app-store licence. Disputes may be brought before courts, consumer commissions, or other authorities with jurisdiction under applicable law. These Terms do not select an exclusive city or prevent you from using a forum available to you by law.
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of mandatory consumer and privacy laws applicable where you live. You may contact support@outfola.com so we can try to resolve an issue informally, but doing so is not a condition for exercising statutory rights or seeking urgent relief. These Terms impose no mandatory arbitration, class-action waiver, or shortened statutory claim period.
General
- These Terms, any applicable app-store licence, and any additional terms you expressly accept govern use of the Services. The Privacy Policy explains data handling and does not waive any privacy right.
- If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- If we do not enforce a right right away, we have not waived it.
- You may transfer rights only where permitted by law or applicable store rules. We may transfer our rights and obligations as part of a lawful reorganization or business transfer if your mandatory rights are not reduced, with notice where required.
- Subject to mandatory law, we are not responsible for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, but must take reasonable steps to limit their effects where the law requires.
- Except for rights expressly provided under the applicable store licence, these Terms do not give enforcement rights to unrelated third parties.
